BeautyProduct of the WeekI’ve tried a lot of cleansers for my job and this Byoma one is my favouriteBeauty editor Alex Peters shares why she loves the Byoma Creamy Jelly CleanserShareLink copied ✔️July 19, 2023BeautyProduct of the WeekTextAlex Peters This is Product of the Week – a weekly round-up of the Dazed Beauty team and wider community’s must-have buys. WHAT IS IT? Brand: ByomaProduct: Creamy Jelly CleanserPrice: £9.99 WHY IS IT SO GOOD? In my line of work, I have the opportunity to test out a lot of cleansers. There have been many good ones along the way – Dr Barbara Sturm’s Enzyme Cleanser, Haeckels’ Spiraglow Cleansing Milk and Youth to the People’s Superfood Cleanser among them. But, in terms of an all-rounder that I know I can rely on, I always find myself going back to Byoma’s Creamy Jelly Cleanser. I first tried this cleanser in January 2022 when Byoma launched. I was interested in the barrier-strengthening ethos of the brand – at the time, coming out of lockdown, everyone had damaged their skin health through over-exfoliating and overuse of actives so there was a big focus on barrier repair. I liked the sound of the product so I pushed it to the top of my list of cleansers to test out and I loved it immediately. Several bottles later, I’ve pretty much been using it ever since. The Creamy Jelly Cleanser is formulated with Byoma’s signature cocktail of ceramides, cholesterol and fatty acids, as well as antioxidant-rich ingredients liquorice root and green tea extracts, to keep the skin moisturised as it cleans. Despite the jelly name, the cleanser is more of a gel which gently lathers as you apply it to your face. It feels nice on the skin and leaves it looking and feeling great. My skin is, unfortunately, of the oily, blemish-prone, sensitive variety and the cleanser works really well for it, particularly when I pair it with the Paula’s Choice liquid exfoliant. At £9.99, it’s very affordable and you only need a few pumps so it will last you a while. Gentle, reliable, simple and easy, you can’t really go wrong with this cleanser! QUICKFIRE QUESTIONS This product sounds like… The gentle trickling of a babbling brook. The fictional character who would use this product is… Kat Stratford from 10 Things I Hate About You. If this product was a song it would be… Taurus – reliable, grounded, honest and straightforward!
