Luckily for you, there’s a hot new trend that has arrived just in time to cure your boredom. Likely inspired by the slew of films that dropped on Netflix just before lockdown began – or just the fact that we’re all obsessed anyway – beauty fanatics are creating incredible looks that pay homage to their fave Studio Ghibli films. From Ponyo to Princess Mononoke and Spirited Away to Howl’s Moving Castle, all the films’ cutest characters are brought to life via make-up and nails. Maybe you want to channel Spirited Away’s No Face or the susuwatari (those adorable soot balls), or you could go full out and cover yourself in feathers to emulate Howl. The choice is yours, and what better time to work on your skills? Failing that, you can just enjoy some of Studio Ghibli’s lesser-known works instead. Here, we round-up some of our fave looks.
