WHAT IS IT? Brand: StarfaceProduct: Star BalmPrice: £5.99 WHY IS IT SO GOOD? The Starface Star Balm is the only lip product I have bought and fully used up. Six times. Anyone who knows me knows my genuine love for this balm (my lips especially do). You’ve probably seen or tried Starface’s iconic colourful Hydro-Stars – fan favourites of Gen Z skincare enthusiasts across the globe (myself included). These spot patches have paved the way for a growing acne positivity trend, allowing people to celebrate and feel more comfortable in their own skin. This element of self-confidence is present in the brand’s Star Balm, which promotes skincare as a positive indulgence. It was the packaging that first caught my eye – the bright colours literally popped off the shelf at my local Superdrug. Available in 10 flavours, including watermelon, vanilla and mango, there is something for everyone. Each balm is sheer when applied and leaves a lightweight, subtly shiny lip. I use mine as an accessory as well as simply a beauty product – I love the fun splash of colour my Star Balm brings, especially when I switch between flavours to match my outfit. My go-to balm is Magic Mint and as the name suggests, it definitely does smell magical and leaves my lips feeling squeaky clean. Imogen Pearson I’ve tried many other lip balms in the past: Glossier’s Balm Dotcom, Rhode’s Peptide Lip Tint and Nivea’s Shine Lip Balm. Unfortunately, whether it was the look, feel or applicator, none seemed to stick with me for long and I only ever reached for them when my lips were truly crying out for help. Often, I would misplace these products – losing them for weeks in various bags or drawers, only for them to show up after I’d just purchased yet another replacement. However, since I opened my first Star Balm, this problem – along with chapped lips – is no more. My loyalty to this lip balm might sound extreme, but honestly, it is my 24/7 go-to. Now my lips are never dry! Whether getting ready for a night out or during my skincare routine, I’m always reaching for my Star Balm for hydration as well as a comforting layer of nourishment. It is the perfect size to pop in my pocket wherever I am, especially on a walk or long car ride when my skin becomes irritated or dry. Now you can’t catch me without a Star Balm – and my lips have never been happier. QUICKFIRE QUESTIONS This product feels like… a blanket in lip balm form, a cushiony, silky application. If this product were a song, it would be… anything from Addison Rae’s debut album, girly, fun and chilled, matching the vibrant colour palette of the packaging. The fictional character who would use this product is… Sharpay Evans would LOVE the Cherry Charm and Starfruit flavours. The cute casing would be a perfect addition to her iconic pink outfits.
