Palette as softly or as experimentally as you wantShareLink copied ✔️July 8, 2024BeautyProduct of the WeekTextAlex Peters This is Product of the Week – a round-up of the Dazed Beauty team and wider community’s must-have beauty buys. WHAT IS IT? Brand: Dolce & Gabbana BeautyProduct: Eye Dare You! PalettePrice: £74.00 WHY IS IT SO GOOD? Make-up as an accessory is all the rage right now. From Hailey Bieber’s lip gloss phone cases and Valentino’s clutch with in-built powder and lipstick, to the renewed interest in Dior’s vintage make-up jewellery, the make-up we wear has become such a status symbol that we’re now showing it off. For its latest bold collection, Dolce & Gabbana launched a multi-use palette which comes with a detachable gold chain so that you can clip it on to anything you like – bag, keychain, belt loop, the possibilities are endless. The Eye Dare You! Palette has 12 shades that can be used for both the eyes and cheeks and range from wearable matte neutrals to reflective, multi-chrome glitters in blues, purples and metallics. There is also a black gel that doubles as an eyeliner and a little brush that comes with the palette. The products are all very pigmented, with minimal fallout and the range of shades means that you can be as safe or as experimental as you want. Courtesy of Dolce & Gabbana Beauty “If you haven’t used anything as bright or shiny as [the multi-chrome glitters], I would start with a little touch of it on the inner corner of the eyes,” Naoko Scintu, global makeup expert for Dolce & Gabbana Beauty, tells Dazed. “You don’t have to go big and bold. You can just go delicate, little, maybe a bit of a highlight on the brow. You can use it delicately or you can use it more crazy.” As someone who was trained to always think about balance in the make-up she does, Scintu says she was really excited by the palette because of the options it gives. “I’m like, ‘let’s do really glowy skin with a cool eye and no lip’. It's just all about that one colour on the eye or that one shape.” The multi-chromes are a particular favourite for her, and if you’re still not feeling brave enough to go for a full eye look she recommends highlighting on your collarbone, or on the shoulders. “It’s so great for space-agey but delicate make-up”. For those people who aren’t afraid and decide to go full-throttle on the bold aesthetic, the brand’s liquid eyeliners in the bold collection come in seven vibrant colours, so you can add a lime green or Barbie pink cat eye to your glittering eye look. QUICKFIRE QUESTIONS If this product was a song it would be… Charli xcx’s “Von Dutch” remix with Addison Rae – with this palette your make-up will help you stand out in the club just as much as screaming along with Addison’s verse will. The fictional character who would use this product is… Valerie Gail (Geena Davis) in Earth Girls Are Easy. The multi-chrome glitters will help her fit in with her alien boyfriend in space. If this product was one of the astrological signs it would be… Gemini. The matte neutral shades and the bright glittery ones mean you can express all the sides of your personality.
