@TikTokForBiden is made up of over 200 creators who are urging young people to vote in the upcoming presidential election
Ahead of the US presidential election on November 3, public figures including Cardi B, Billie Eilish, Frank Ocean, and even YouTuber Tana Mongeau – who offered free nudes to those who vote for Joe Biden – are encouraging their followers to get out and vote.
Now, Gen Z are utilising their fave platform, TikTok, to get in on the action. Launched yesterday (October 8), @TikTokForBiden is made up of over 200 TikTok creators who are urging young people to vote for the Democrat nominee in the upcoming election.
In just 24 hours, the account has amassed over 170k followers, with the group’s first video racking up more than 500k views alone. “Our goals are: registering young people to vote, raising awareness about the election, and eventually, putting Joe Biden in the White House,” @TikTokForBiden’s launch clip says.
The group continues: “We will be participating in some events in an effort to get people to both register and vote in the election.” The events include phone banking, competitions, and “other ways YOU (our followers) can get involved”. @TikTokForBiden will also post regular political content as well as info and updates about the election.

In a second video shared on the account, the group announces the release of its merch line, which includes t-shirts and hoodies featuring slogans like, ‘Gen Z for Biden’, ‘Voting is cool’, ‘Gays for Biden’, and ‘You can’t spell Biden w/o bi’. All the profits will go to the Biden Campaign and “other charities”.
The group explains its aims more clearly on its website. “Our primary goal is to elect Joe Biden and Kamala Harris to the White House. We’re a coalition of Biden-supporting TikTokers who believe that everyone on Earth, no matter who they are or what they identify with, deserve equal rights. We believe in bringing awareness to marginalised communities so that we can work on ending the cycle of oppression.”
It continues: “We believe that we can, should, and must use our platform to cause change in any way we can. We’re on a long road towards equality, but it can only start once we elect Joe Biden and Kamala Harris.”

This isn’t the first time Gen Z has shown its disdain for Donald Trump. Teens on TikTok and K-pop stans have been feuding with the president online ever since they sabotaged his first campaign rally. Since then, Gen Z has galvanised to mass report Trump’s social media accounts, lower the rating of his campaign app, and basically just make fun of him. In recent months, Trump has hit back, launching anti-TikTok ads and even going as far as banning the app – more on that mess here.
