Last night (September 29) was the first presidential debate between Donald Trump and Joe Biden ahead of the 2020 US general election, taking place on November 3 – and coinciding with the event, Ocean updated his Blonded website with a new campaign urging fans to register to vote. The website includes a voting registration widget and links for fans to check their registration status and the early voting calendar, as well as information on voting by mail, and receiving election reminders. He also commented on the debate via Instagram, writing that “watching (Trump getting) dragged out will be way more entertaining than these debates”. This isn’t the first time Frank Ocean has gotten political. In 2018, he offered free merch to people who voted in the midterm races, and broadcast three midterm specials of his Blonded radio show on Apple Music 1. Check out the Blonded site here.
