The new visuals offer a very literal take on the song’s lyrics. “There’s a picture on the wall of me on a John Deere,” Del Rey sings, over a clip of her riding the said tractor in the yellow dress from her Blue Banisters cover art. Elsewhere, she’s seen baking a cake and preparing for a storm with her sisters — including her longtime visual collaborator Chuck Grant — and, yes, painting her banisters blue. The singer’s imminent follow-up to Chemtrails Over the Country Club will also feature the previously-released tracks “Wildflower Wildfire”, “Text Book”, and “Arcadia” (which received an alternative video earlier this month). Last month, Lana Del Rey also announced that she intended to quit social media, before deleting her Instagram account. “That is simply because I have so many other interests and other jobs that I’m doing that require privacy and transparency,” she explained at the time. “I just wanted to say that I’m obviously continuing to make my spoken word albums and my records. I’m still writing my short poetry books. And I’m still very present and love what I do. I’m absolutely here for the music. I’m also just going on some different endeavours.” Watch the official video for “Blue Banisters” below. Escape the algorithm!
