Cardi B has interviewed Joe Biden. 

Organised by Elle magazine, who have put Cardi on the cover of their latest issue, the 16-minute conversation covers the upcoming US presidential election, the effects of COVID-19, police brutality, parenthood, and the Trump administration.

“I have a whole list of things that I want our next president to do for us,” Cardi said. “But first, I just want Trump out. His mouth gets us in trouble so much.”

Cardi, who previously voiced support for presidential candidate Bernie Sanders, went on to list what she wants from a president, such as free college, Medicare for All, and “laws that are fair to Black citizens and that are fair for cops, too”.

“There’s no reason why we can’t have all of that,” Biden responded. “Presidents have to take responsibility.” However, most of these things are not part of Joe Biden’s policy platform.

It’s a slightly bizarre watch, with worrying shades of Hillary Clinton’s celebrity-packed, but ultimately doomed, 2016 election campaign. But it could have been worse – Joe Biden could have tried to make a “WAP” pun.

Cardi B has been vocal about politics before, recently encouraging Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez to run for president once she’s old enough to do so. Then there are her previous interviews with Bernie Sanders.
