The rapper sat down mid-shoot at May Van Alen House, a Victorian brownstone on the Upper East Side, for Dazed’s Between Takes series to answer the hard-hitting questions, like where is the infamous diamond that once was implanted in their forehead? Unexpectedly, Lil Uzi had the diamond at the ready. “Do you want to hold it?” they asked in the video. (And yes, they actually passed it over.) They also said that it will soon return to their forehead – with the help of “two anchors” they are working on to keep it there. “It’s a piercing!” the musician exclaims in the video. “They tried to cut me off from my insurance before for that. I had to explain to them that it’s not self-mutilation. I need my insurance; I’ve got a family.” (Lil Uzi is just like us.) Aside from the diamond, Lil Uzi talked about giving “girl rap” a chance after not listening for years. As they put it: “Of course, I listen to the queen, JT.” Also, they revealed an unexpected style icon: Nardwuar (who only wears plaid). “I would love to see Nardwuar’s closet because I think that his closet isn’t what we think,” they said.
