Probably look for the hidden cameras,” says 2hollis, his body completely motionless save for his pupils silently scanning the room. The thing is, hollis isn’t wrong. He was in a hotel room, and he was being filmed, but the cameras weren’t hidden – they were for our new Room Service video to accompany his cover story in the Spring 2026 issue of Dazed. Over the past year, 2hollis has spearheaded a movement to make pop music weirder and faster than ever before, and, in the video above, he shares some of his musical secrets: “If it looks like it could be hit and make a cool sound, record it” (do with that what you will). Elsewhere, the one-of-a-kind pop unicorn speaks about sampling the Minecraft firework sound, his most iconic lyrics (“Put your body on my jeans,” of course), and how Swedish electropop band Lo-Fi-Fnk’s 2006 album Boylife inspired him growing up. But it isn’t all about music. Elsewhere in the interview, 2hollis speaks of his dream of meeting Studio Ghibli founder Hayao Miyazaki, his top three anime of all time, and his beauty hacks: “Go to bed, and jump in freezing cold water in the morning.” Perhaps most surprising of all, however, was hollis’ unprompted confession about being spiked with PCP. “I whited out! My vision just went white, I don’t remember like 12 hours of my life.” Catch all this and more in our new Room Service video above. Escape the algorithm!
