Today, you’ll spot the logo in every corner of the world, favoured by athletes, but also by creatives and fashion insiders. Proving itself as a brand that stretches far beyond the running track, for its latest move, On has unveiled the newest member of its trainer family: the LightSpray Cloudmonster, a continuation of its ongoing collaboration with Loewe. The two brands have worked together on a series of projects since 2022, reimagining classic styles such as the Cloudventure, while simultaneously cementing the sportswear brand’s position as a fashion frontrunner. As seen in a new Dazed photoshoot, captured by Kayla Connors and styled by Jordan Duddy, the shoes are modelled by three working creatives: artist Hanne, filmmaker Angela and musician Kevin. Mirroring the very foundations of the shoe itself, each person photographed represents craft and innovation, which they express in their own ways, through each of their creative practices. Naturally, their personal styles are an extension of this, and as a result, the shoes look different on each person – effortlessly adapting to each person’s own tastes and complementing their individual identities. On x Loewe's LightSpray CloudmonsterPhotography by Kayla Connors, styling by Jordan Duddy Almost completely translucent, each pair of trainers comes with socks that have been designed specifically to illuminate the shoe – they glow through the shoe’s surface in shades of fluoro yellow, green and teal. Not only does this make the shoe versatile to any outfit, but it also creates the illusion that it is a natural extension of the body. Inspired by runners (but never limited to them), whether the wearer is popping out for a comfortable jog, clocking significant distances, or simply headed to the office, On’s modern tech has brought us the lightest version of its Cloudmonster ever made. Completely laceless, the shoe weighs just 190g and is made of only eight pieces – a minimal construction for a lower carbon footprint and elite-level training. The new style also incorporates On's pioneering LightSpray™ upper technology, created via a precision-engineered manufacturing process that sprays a filament upper in a single step, eliminating the need for traditional layering or reinforcements and allowing the shoe to move naturally with the foot. A perfect example of two brands excelling at what they do best, this shoe fuses On’s advanced engineering with Loewe’s unique approach to colour and proportion. It’s this shared exploration of movement and craft that makes the LightSpray Cloudmonster one of the most innovative trainers in recent history. Escape the algorithm!
