Starring TikToker and pop star Addison Rae as the lead character, famous influencer Padgett Sawyer, the film follows her attempts to transform her “scruffy, antisocial” classmate (played by Tanner Buchanan) from a nerd into the new prom king. Of course “things get complicated when she finds herself falling for him IRL”, as described in a synopsis by Netflix. The new trailer shows this romance brewing as Padgett falls off a horse, and Buchanan’s character takes jabs at her selfie taking: “You really can’t enjoy this without sharing it with like 500 strangers?” He’s All That also features some of the original film’s stars, with OG nerd Rachel Leigh Cook returning as Padgett’s mother, alongside Freddie Prinze Jr. As revealed in the trailer, there’s also a brief cameo from Kourtney Kardashian. Adding to the 90s nostalgia, the new film was written by She’s All That’s original writer, R. Lee Fleming Jr, teaming up with Mean Girls and Freaky Friday filmmaker Mark Waters as director. He’s All That is set to be released on Netflix August 27. Watch the first full trailer below. Escape the algorithm!
