There was no samba, but the rainbow’s full colour spectre was represented at the Lincoln Center. Silk dresses in peach, fuschia and aqua blue set the tone, both in terms of shapes and colours. The puffy sleeves and short but boxy shapes gave the outfits a voluminous feeling. Abstract prints and multi coloured patchwork patterns continued the celebrations. Even the black section towards the end couldn’t dampen the mood; Herchovitch’s pastel splashes were too strong! Dazed Digital: Colour seemed to be key this season! Alexandre Herchcovitch: Yes, the most important feature this season was the colour. We tried make the clothes look like they had paint stains on them… DD: The shape was voluminous on the torso and shoulder… Alexandre Herchcovitch: We used rectangular pieces of fabric. There was no circular direction, everything was a straight line and through pleating we made round shapes, but everything was really square and rectangular. DD: Do you have a favourite piece from the show? Alexandre Herchcovitch: I like the glasses, I like the colours, I like the shoes, everything!
