Paying tribute to the city, or to be more precise, a particular view of the French capital, as chosen by Virginie Viard, models weaved their way around a series of walkways, chimney pots, AC units, and skylights. An ode to the classic French girl style, models including Gigi Hadid, Kaia Gerber, and Anna Ewers walked to a soundtrack made up of French pop music. The collection was made up of Chanel signatures including tweed short suits and culottes, as well as denim jackets with ruffled detailing, tailored playsuits, and puffball skirts. Looks were finished with classic straw boaters, giant Chanel clutch bags, and flat ballet pumps. Onlookers such as Cardi B, who turned up wearing a full look from Karl Lagerfeld’s final Chanel collection, were among the audience. Unlike some, the rapper managed to stay in her seat for the entirety of the show: towards the end of the presentation, there was a brief interruption by an audience member who stormed the stage to walk alongside the rest of the models. Wearing a faux Chanel outfit, the prankster was later confronted by Gigi Hadid who escorted her off the stage. Escape the algorithm!
