Now, there’s not long to wait until you can play the open-world action game, which is set to be released across a variety of platforms November 19. But first the developers, CD Projekt Red, have treated us to another dose of Keanu as a slick mercenary. This time around, Keanu isn’t actually playing a role inside of Cyberpunk 2077, but narrating the action in a new teaser for the game. “Why do you come here?” he asks over clips of hovercars, cybernetic body modifications, and citywide shootouts. “For fun? For power? Looking for a shock to the system? Yeah.” “Because before they put a bullet in you, you’ll make this whole city burn,” he adds, over a backing track of Billie Eilish’s “Bad Guy”. Admittedly, not quite as wholesome as we’ve come to expect. In the game itself, Keanu is set to inhabit a metropolis overrun by outlaws and mercenaries in a dystopian near-future. He will have Grimes for company though (fans were offered a closer look at her in-game character, Lizzy Wizzy, back in September). A song from Grimes’ 2020 album Miss Anthropocene, titled “4ÆM”, will also feature in the Cyberpunk 2077 soundtrack, as announced during the track’s debut performance at last year’s Game Awards in Los Angeles.
