Billie Eilish has long been outspoken about the climate crisis. Over the last few years, the singer has dropped multiple public statements on the issue, spoken candidly about her struggles with climate anxiety, and snuck stark ‘world is burning’ metaphors into her visuals. She has also tried to make her tours as eco-friendly as possible, with water-refill stations, recycling bins, and information points where fans can learn more about the effects of the crisis. “Doing more and more research and learning more about it, it’s so insane,” she told Dazed in 2020. “Like, we’re gonna die if we don’t do something.”

Thankfully, Eilish is determined to use her platform to keep ‘doing something’ – and this month, that comes in the form of a climate-focused party. The event, titled OVERHEATED, is the second of its kind – the first was held last year – and will consist of panel discussions, community-building exercises, roller skating, and “delicious plant-based food” from Neat Burger. It’s set to be held in London, at Flipper’s Roller Boogie Palace, on August 30. 

Eilish is set to attend the event, with just 500 tickets going on sale to the public later this week. Other guests include Earthrise CEO Alice Eady, fashion entrepreneur Samata Pattinson, and climate activists Dominique Palmer and Tori Tsui (with even more to be announced). Maggie Baird, Eilish’s mum, is also set to attend, having co-organised the event with her company Support + Feed, which aims to tackle the climate crisis and food insecurity by promoting an equitable plant-based food system.

Tickets for OVERHEATED go on sale on August 16 at 10am BST here. But don‘t panic if you don’t get tickets – the whole thing will also be live-streamed globally on Eilish’s Official YouTube Channel in partnership with Mercury Studios.
