It’s that time again: summer may be hard to imagine but it’s fast approaching, and choosing the right festival is no easy feat. Between indecisive friends, slow repliers, and an oversaturated circuit that often leans into branded sameness (as Dazed’s music writer Solomon Pace-McCarrick pointed out last year), it’s not always easy to know what festival to commit to. And while some lineups continue to recycle the same rotation of headliners (not you, Zara Larsson, we love you), there are still plenty worth getting excited about. So, to make things easier, we’ve rounded up our favourite line-ups from across the globe. CLUB2CLUB NEW YORK, USA Italy’s C2C Festival returns to New York City’s Knockdown Centre for its second-ever US edition. From the anxiety-riddled basslines of aya, the droning ambience of Malibu and the moody utterings of Elias Rønnenfelt, the stacked lineup is guaranteed to have you darting across the festival's three stages. Don’t miss: New York, the experimental electro-duo whose tracks are undercut with a processed deadpan, are sure to put on a performance. FIELD MANEUVERS NORFOLK, UK Billed as being “a million miles from reality,” Field Maneuvers is a no-frills festival set in the rolling fields of Norfolk. With clusters of tents, makeshift stages and a booming sound system, FM has steadily grown into one of the UK’s most refreshing festival experiences. Don’t miss: SYPHEN, Uhaul Dyke Rescue and Don't Touch My Fro! While the lineup of DJs is stacked, don’t overlook the crews guaranteed to bring something for everyone. FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL NIIGATA, JAPAN High in the mountains of Niigata, Fuji Rock Festival delivers genre-spanning line-ups in one of the most scenic settings around. Catch Turnstile backdropped by mountains, then hop on a gondola to make it in time for Mitski – it beats the usual muddy trek between stages any day. Don’t miss: Sofia Isella, bringing a moody mix of alt-pop and diaristic lyricism to the stage. RALLY LONDON, UK Art grads assemble for one of London’s coolest festivals. Blood Orange headlines, alongside the dreamier edges of the scene with Smerz, James K, and Kiss Facility. Don’t miss: dexter in the newsagent, a standout in the UK underground, pairing hazy, loop-based production with off-kilter delivery. ROLLING LOUD FLORIDA, USA With a lineup that looks like it’s been ripped from your situationship’s playlist. Rolling Loud, the largest hip-hop festival in the world, delivers one of this year’s most hyped lineups for their Florida edition. From EsDeeKid to Sexyy Red, Playboi Carti to 2slimey, we know these crowds are going to go crazy. Hold on to your Chrome Hearts chains, guys. Don’t miss: Slayr, promising rapid-fire flow and high-BPM club production. Catch this one while he’s rising. DEKMANTEL AMSTERDAM, NETHERLANDS Dekmantel’s reputation as one of the best electronic music festivals around shows no signs of changing. Located in a sprawling forest on the city’s outskirts, Dekmantel is nurturing its homegrown talent while bringing in bookings from far beyond. Don’t miss: Sandrien, a DJ known for their hypnotic, loop-based techno sets. AFRO NATION ALGARVE, PORTUGAL Turning up the heat on Praia da Rocha, this Algarve-based festival stakes its claim as the world’s biggest Afrobeats festival. Spanning hip hop, R&B and dancehall, the lineup is stacked with big names, including Tyla, Kehlani, Burna Boy, Asake, and Wizkid. Don’t miss: Theodora, for a set of alt-R&B with dreamy, immersive vocals – the perfect respite from an energy-charged lineup. SOUNDIT BARCELONA, SPAIN Back for its second edition, SOUNDIT takes over Parc Nou in Barcelona for two days of forward-thinking electronic music. Expect sets from the scene’s most exciting names. Don’t miss: gyrofield, an artist known for her hypnotic synth layers, pulsating basslines, rhythm-forward production and kinetic live sets. SURF FESTIVAL PUNAT, CROATIA With its azure oceans, Mediterranean climate and seemingly endless fleet of boats rigged with sound systems, Croatia has long been an idyllic destination for summer festival-goers, and Surf Festival is the newest addition to this lineage. Taking place for the first time this year, Surf Festival has curated a choice list of global dance and independent radio pioneers. Don’t miss: London community radio legend Charlie Bones and selector-turned-Jumbi proprietor Bradley Zero. NYEGE NYEGE FESTIVAL JINJA, UGANDA Operating on the margins of the African musical mainstream, the ‘Afrogalactic’ festival (and its associated music label, Nyege Nyege Tapes) is a platform for African artists both domestically and abroad. But music isn’t all it has to offer. Each year, Nyege Nyege Festival (its name being the Ugandan word for ‘the feeling you get when you hear music and suddenly want to dance’), also includes a rich programming of activities (last year included live welding and traditional wrestling), art installations and film screenings. “It’s a moment where artists from all over the continent meet and get inspired by each other,” the festival’s co-founder, Dereck Debru, told Dazed in 2024. Taking place in November, Nyege Nyege has yet to announce its 2026 lineup. Follow their Instagram page for the latest updates. Escape the algorithm!
