A musician as well as an actor, she describes the tracklist in an Instagram story as: “a selection of songs that healed me.” Her picks feature a range of artists, from Erykah Badu to Ennio Morricone, and the Cranberries to Earth, Wind & Fire. Besides Euphoria, the Dazed 100 alum has played standout roles in Jonah Hill’s Mid90s and The OA, and tapped into her musical background in Trey Edward Shults’s Frank Ocean-inspired film, Waves. As a singer-songwriter, meanwhile, Demie has supported JMSN on tour, and appeared as a special guest on Grimes’ debut episode of WarNymph radio back in March. More recently, she opened up about yet another talent on The A24 Podcast, revealing that J-Lo and Nicki Minaj used to wear her fashion line before she moved away from designing to focus on acting and music.
