The rapper, who is a vocal supporter of presidential candidate Bernie Sanders, was tweeting over the weekend about starting a political career of her own. “I think I want to be a politician. I really love government even tho I don’t agree with Government,” she wrote. “I do feel like if I go back to school and focus up I can be part of Congress. I deadass have sooo much ideas that make sense. I just need a couple of years of school and I can shake the table.” “Like I was watching War,” she continued. “No matter how many weapons a country have you need people! How are you trying to go against a country and possibly start a war when this country lacks patriotism? I barely see people claiming they LOVE being American.” The Hustlers star has recently expressed fears that Donald Trump will win the 2020 election, but that hasn’t dampened her flame. Back in August, Cardi met Sanders at TEN, a black-owned nail bar business in Detroit, where the pair discussed minimum wage and unemployment in America. In an interview on Showtime’s Desus & Mero, Sanders commended Cardi B, saying: “You got a lot of entertainment stars and a lot of them don’t have the guts to speak out on important issues, Cardi B has, and we’ve had a couple of really long chats about politics and I’m glad she’s supported.” I think I want to be a politician.I really love government even tho I don’t agree with Goverment— iamcardib (@iamcardib) January 12, 2020Expand your creative community and connect with 15,000 creatives from around the world.READ MORE‘I fuck with them all’: How OsamaSon got his cult-like fanbaseWhat went down at Kraków's Unsound Festival 2025 CrocsTried and tested: taking Crocs new boots on a trial through London‘He’s part of the fabric of my life’: Young Black fans remember D’AngeloBloodz Boi: The humble godfather of Chinese underground rap InstagramHow to stay authentic online, according to Instagram Rings creatorsA rare interview with POiSON GiRL FRiEND, dream pop’s future seerNigeria’s Blaqbonez is rapping to ‘beat his high score’Inside Erika de Casier’s shimmering R&B universe ‘Rap saved my life’: A hazy conversation with MIKE and Earl Sweatshirt7 essential albums by the SoulquariansIs AI really the future of music?
