However, it has been confirmed that he’ll play a part in the upcoming Joe Exotic drama in production at Peacock. The Twin Peaks star joins the cast as Howard Baskin, the husband of Exotic’s nemesis Carole Baskin, whose rivalry with the former zookeeper was explored in the hit Netflix series Tiger King. Baskin’s husband stayed by her side throughout the bitter rivalry, following the disappearance of her first husband in 1997. Based on a Wondery podcast of the same name, the series will also star Saturday Night Live’s Kate McKinnon as Carole Baskin, John Cameron Mitchell as Joe Exotic, and Dennis Quaid as Rick Kirkham, the filmmaker behind the OG big cat documentary. Last month, Sam Keeley and Nat Wolff also joined the cast as Exotic’s former partners John Finlay and Travis Maldonado, alongside Brian Van Holt as the G.W. Zoo employee John Reinke. In case you missed it the first time around, the Joe Exotic story culminated in his conviction for attempting to order a hitman to assassinate Baskin – plus animal abuse charges – after she attempted to shut down his zoo. He’s currently serving a 22-year sentence in prison, where he’s been selling NFTs from behind bars. Kyle MacLachlan, on the other hand, recently made his TikTok debut, sharing a series of heartwarming, Twin Peaks-themed videos to mark 2021’s Twin Peaks Day.
