Jennifer Lopez and Constance Wu (of Crazy Rich Asians) were initially set to star when the film was announced earlier this year (March 20), alongside Cardi B in her first film role. Then Lizzo was added to the mix. Now, though, we’re getting a first look at the Hustlers characters in their natural habitat (i.e. the strip club). Several blink-and-you’ll-miss-it teaser clips have been posted on the film’s Instagram, but for all their brevity they give a pretty good idea of what it’s all about. Think: J-Lo strutting in a fur coat and rubbing dollar bills on her face, Lizzo sliding down a pole, and Cardi (as ‘Diamond’) wearing nothing but, well, diamonds. Hustlers, which is based on a real article in The Cut from 2015, will also feature Keke Palmer, Lili Reinhart, and Julie Stiles, and is slated for a September 13 release. Escape the algorithm!
