Each of them made different gestures with their hands, honouring the idea that craftsmanship is a language that works across disciplines. That thinking has now been extended into food. Continuing the celebration of the anniversary, Bottega Veneta and Dazed asked London cook Jesse Jenkins, better known as ADIP (Another Day in Paradise), to translate the weave into pastry. Raised in Los Angeles, Jenkins began his career in a professional kitchen while balancing life as a sponsored skateboarder. He then moved to the UK, where he spent almost a decade behind the camera as a fashion photographer. Eventually, he returned to cooking, posting cinematic videos online that garnered him a huge following. His first book, Cooking with Vegetables, came out this summer. For Bottega, Jenkins baked a tart adorned with a woven lattice, subtly mirroring the iconic Intrecciato design. Relying on meticulous craftsmanship, he channels the same overlapping strips, harmonious repetition and patient dedication as Bottega’s artisans. To continue the celebration of the intrecciato’s anniversary, Bottega Veneta has taken over Harrods for a pop-up, open to the public from now until October 4. Head here to find out more.
