For one, everyone says they’re boring. Secondly, there’s so much discourse about the state of going out that there are doubts about whether young people still enjoy partying at all. Luckily, none of that was on display during Dazed and Reebok’s party last Friday (February 13) at The Chocolate Factory in Brooklyn, where attendees caught a glimpse of new Reebok Classics styles, sweated out the stresses of fashion week, and yes, actually danced the night away. Dubbed “Classics Club”, the event came on the heels of the sneaker brand’s latest campaign, “Born Classic. Worn For Life”, and Reebok Classics launch, available today on Reebok.com. Photos from the campaign, which brings new iterations of the brand's most beloved styles, surrounded attendees, which included emerging New York designers like The Twink Next Door and local artists like Gabriela Richardson, along with a host of creators and friends of both Dazed and Reebok. The drinks flowed, the fits were impeccable, there were 7th Street Burgers available and the vibes were better than any fashion week party in recent memory. Below, we unpack what went down. THE MUSIC WAS UNMATCHED Photography Isabella Coelho Last weekend’s iconic lineup of DJs included Heron Preston, BAMBII, Evilgiane, Oscar Nñ and Dylan Ali. No two sets were the same, meaning there was truly something for everyone. REEBOK’S LATEST KICKS WERE ON DISPLAY Photography Andy Zalkin Aside from the dance floor, the highlight of the venue was a designated Reebok Classics showroom, where the brand’s newest styles – now featuring premium Garment Leather – were put under the spotlight. Along with previews of the new and improved Freestyle Lo, Club C 85 Vintage and Workout Plus shoes, vintage television screens and campaign imagery from the label’s latest collaboration with Karol G graced the room. EVERYONE KEPT IT MOVING Photography Isabella Coelho Who says the kids stopped dancing? Whatever qualms anyone has about the current club scene could be curbed at the Chocolate Factory, where the dance floor was always active. Attendees turned up with friends and strangers alike, so much so that there were reports of sore muscles the next day. A NIGHTCAP WAS NEEDED Photography Mark Hunter The party ended, as all great parties do, with some much-needed refuelling. In addition to Dazed and Reebok-branded playing cards and lighters, guests were able to take home any final smashburgers from 7th Street Burger, an iconic New York post-going-out spot, for the road.
