Now, it’s been revealed that she’s not alone. Joining her as the face of the French label for the summer season is none other than everyone’s fave fictional cam girl, Euphoria’s Barbie Ferreira. Captured once again via video chat by photographer Pierre-Ange Carlotti, the former Dazed 100er is seen in a series of Simon’s key styles, including a knitted bikini, a semi-see-through shirt, and a buttermilk yellow pleated dress, as well as the designer’s now legendary XXXL wide-brimmed hat. With Jacquemus largely known for sending impossibly long-legged, slim models down the runway in seasons gone by, Barbie’s inclusion in his new campaign is a welcome step towards a little more body diversity on the part of the label, and follows on from his AW20 show, when rising ‘plus-size’ model Jill Kortleve walked. Given the same season we also saw Paloma Elsesser become the first plus size model to walk for Fendi, and Kortleve making a further appearance at Chanel, we’re hoping that, whatever fashion may look like in the not-too-distant future, there’ll be plenty more opportunites for girls like Barbie to join girls like Bella harmoniously on the runway.
