Now, Nothing is taking that push towards celebrating music right into the epicentre of where it comes alive, the club dance floor. Its latest project, Club Nothing, sees the brand launch a global series of nightlife events built around dance music and the communities and creatives from around the world. The series begins in New York City on July 9, where Club Nothing will transform an unexpected Brooklyn location into a one-night-only club experience, which will coincide with the launch of Ear (3a). From there, the series travels to Tokyo on July 30, continuing its focus on emerging talent, new sounds and the communities shaping nightlife today. “Community has always been the heart of Nothing,” says Erica Travis, Senior Community Manager at Nothing. “Club Nothing is about creating spaces where people can come together around a shared love for music, while giving emerging creatives the platform and support they need to bring their ambitions to life.” Alongside the event series, Nothing is launching the Club Nothing Fund, a $40,000 initiative supporting four emerging creatives with $10,000 each to bring their own club nights, event series or festivals to life. The fund is designed to support the organisers, artists and communities creating new experiences in music, giving selected applicants the resources and visibility to turn their ideas into reality through the wider Club Nothing platform and Nothing’s global community. “Music has become an increasingly important part of Nothing’s story, and Club Nothing is a natural extension of that journey,” adds Shavone Charles, Multi-hyphenate artist and Global Head of Communications at Nothing. “From the artists we collaborate with, to the diverse creatives we’re bringing together through this initiative, we’re committed to supporting the communities shaping what’s next. As a judge for the fund, I’m excited to see the creativity and ambition coming from next-gen creatives across the Globe.” Entries will be reviewed by a judging panel spanning music, nightlife and creative industries, including DJ and producer Manuka Honey, A&R and music publishing agency founder James Supreme, and music industry professional Layla Mustafa Rock. Dazed’s music writer Solomon Pace-McCarrick will also join Erica Travis and Shavone Charles from Nothing on the panel.
