Last week, Paris Fashion Week men’s returned for its SS27 season, and, along with a scorching heatwave, came even more heat on the runways. The boys at Dries Van Noten stripped off to their underwear for a new take on women’s lingerie; the LGN models dropped their trousers and walked the catwalk in budgie smugglers; while a fetish-coded Connor Storrie sat front row at the sultry Saint Laurent show. And yes, while Paris Fashion Week is primarily a showcase of, well, fashion, there’s one other element we’d like to draw your attention to: the after-dark parties.

Just a stone’s throw from the runways, under the cover of darkness, it’s at these parties that PFW’s wildest moments take place. Take Post Party and the1989’s Wednesday night event, for example. When the rising temperatures inside the underground bar eventually became too much to bear, the hundreds-strong crowd took over the streets instead, turning the pavement into an unofficial dancefloor (much to the chagrin of surrounding neighbours). Or Thursday night’s Danceh0le, where you could’ve spotted Gaspar Noé and Lyas getting down to a Lux Gillespie DJ set alongside The Cobrasnake. Or the Charli xcx and Madonna party at Bus Palladium, which we wrote about in detail here. Whether it was rising rapper Pz’ performing at Welcome.jpg and Grailed’s all-night rager, or young Parisians snogging on the sticky dancefloor of a basement club, the SS27 after parties were some of the messiest yet, and next season will have its work cut out if it wants to go even harder.
