Lopez joins Kendall Jenner in the SS20 campaign (shot by the famed fashion duo Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott) which carries on the theme of how the internet’s blurred the lines in our lives: between the personal and private, fashion and technology, vanity and self-love. Both Lopez and Jenner type their own names into a holographic search bar, for example (don’t lie, you’ve googled yourself before too), becoming a simultaneous blend of the searcher and the search result. They also wear pieces in the reprised jungle print of that dress – along with evening dresses and accessories characteristically laden with gold – against a disorientating backdrop of their own blown-up faces. “I am so proud Google Images was invented after Jennifer wore that dress,” says Donatella Versace in an accompanying statement, and, in the best possible way, it shows.
