Like any great fashion cupboard, Dazed in 2025 was all about variety. This year, our readers were interested in how personal style is becoming more basic and how car boots sales are conquering London, but they were also keen on The Devil Wears Prada and medieval fashion, too. Elsewhere, a viral story about a Comme des Garçons obsessed dad caught our readers’ eyes, as did Jenna Ortega’s Wednesday press tour looks, and Miguel Castro Freitas’s Mugler debut. For all of those and more, scroll down for our most-read fashion stories of the year.

COMME AT THE KIDDY PARK

Back in April, 26-year-old Kevin Peter Wilson just caught heat on TikTok for stunting by the swings. “POV you’re the only dad at the park wearing Comme des Garçons and Lemaire,” Wilson captioned a TikTok showing him and his daughter at a New York kiddy park. We caught up with him about the viral moment soon after, and just like thousands of people on TikTok, Dazed readers couldn’t get enough of his stunt. Read all about it here.

JENNA ORTEGA THE ETHEREAL GOTH

This year, Jenna Ortega turned heads on the press tour for Netflix series Wednesday, arriving to red carpets in Simone Rocha, Willy Chavarria, Ashi Studio and more. A (positive) social media storm ensued, and the man responsible was stylist Enrique Melendez, who’s been friends with Ortega since she was 14. Soon after, we caught up with Melendez to unpack all the idea behind the press tour looks, which you can read about here.

CONNER IVES’ PROTECT THE DOLLS T-SHIRT

It’s no surprise that one of the viral garments of 2025 made it into our most-read list this year. After his AW25 show ended, appeared on the catwalk in a slogan tee that read ‘Protect the Dolls’. Though it was initially just a one-off design, made for that moment, support for the message led Ives to roll them out officially, and the rest is history. Our call to arms to buy the t-shirt became one of our most read stories this year.

MICHAELA STARK’S 2026 CALENDAR

London-based designer Michaela Stark has been providing an alternative to the “sexy calendar” for the last few years, and this time around we chatted to her about her Leigh Bowery-inspired 2026 edition, shooting on the Thames, and the political aspects of public performance. Read the full interview here.

MIA KHALIFA AT DI PETSA AW25

Mia Khalifa made her catwalk debut for KNWLS SS24, but it was her AW25 appearance for Di Petsa that set pulses racing this year. Sexual pleasure, fantasy and desire was the theme of the collection, and Khalifa’s mid-show runway walk was one of the most memorable moments of London Fashion Week. Revisit it here.

IS BASIC FASHION THE TREND SET TO DEFINE 2025?

For this next feature, Dazed contributing editor Günseli Yalcinkaya explored the move away from the maximalist Drainer and hyperpop aesthetics that dominated the post-pandemic years. In its place was ‘basic dressing’, which is less about the clothes you wear and more about the aura you give off. If it sounds like your thing, read on here.

IT WAS THE LIFE OF A MUGLER SHOWGIRL

Of all the SS26 debuts that happened in September – and there were a lot of them – Miguel Castro Freitas’ first outing for Mugler came out victorious. Whether it was the modern take on showgirl style, the supermodels sitting front row, or the suggestion of a dress hanging from a model’s nipples, our readers couldn’t get enough of MCF. Read the entire show review here.

CAR BOOT SALES HAVE BECOME FASHION DESIGN TESTING LABS

In 2025, car boot sales reached peak trendiness in London, and this feature by writer Emily Duchenne explored how fashion designers were using them to test run ideas. “You have everyone: youngsters, stylish people, mums, dads, uncles, kids,” said Olubiyi Thomas. “After a while I start to understand what people want from selling to them directly.” Read the full story here.

THE FAKE MET GALA FROM TDWP2

The anticipation for The Devil Wears Prada 2 reached a fever pitch this year. Filming happening on the streets of New York meant that we all got a front row seat to the set, and when Meryl, Stanley and co filmed a scene that looked suspiciously like the Met Gala, we ranking all the looks from the event. MEDIEVAL TIMES MEETS JANIS JOPLIN

This year, interest in medieval fashion was at an all time high, and our readers indicated their thirst for the style by sending Louis Vuitton’s 2026 cruise show shooting into our top ten. Described as ‘Medieval Times meets Janis Joplin’, creative director Nicolas Ghesquière brought guests to the Palais de Popes for a collection that was both 70s and 700s. Read our review here.
