Urban attitude, army accents: Whilst Andreas Melbostad’s menswear debut as Creative Director of Diesel Black Gold last season was a metallic, heavy rock tribute to the brand’s DNA, his second offering was an exercise in subtle mastery. A hybrid of tailoring and sportswear, SS15 was urban dressing detailed with military and athletic accents, coming complete with metal buttons, epaulettes and stripes running down trouser legs. Eveningwear didn’t escape the collection’s largely casual attitude, and got a welcome youthful injection in the form of a velvet tuxedo jacket, cheekily paired with matching tracksuit bottoms. Stand out looks: The leather jackets, from two classic black bikers painted with white words, arrows and stars, to racecar jackets covered in graphic brand patches and insignia.
