Meet the brain behind the most trash-tastic new-age porn mag of the century

Iris Luz is the multi-hyphenate behind PC Erotic, a new magazine exploring the future of sex and tech

The Dazed Beauty Community is our ever-expanding encyclopaedia of creatives and emerging talent from across the world who are redefining the way we think about beauty. From supermodels to digital artists to makeup prodigies transforming themselves in their bedrooms, these are the beauty influencers of tomorrow who embody everything Dazed Beauty is about. Discover them here.

“If I could have someone else’s face for the day,” says Iris Luz, “I’d definitely be Cicciolina. She’s both a sex symbol, having been a porn star and still campaigns against important political issues in parliament. I love the idea of women representing multiple concepts at once.”

In addition to owning her own casting agency, the 23-year-old is an avid photographer (see her Con! series), and models a bit as well. She is also fluent in French, English, Spanish and Portuguese.

Fascinated with all things social media (she is the Social Media Editor for Dazed Beauty) and technology, she’s just completed her biggest project yet: PC Erotic – a magazine, published by Dazed Beauty’s very own Art Director, Ben Ditto, that explores future technologies and their effects on intimacy, biohacking beauty, the “bimbofication” sub-culture, and the unachievable beauty standards technology has ushered in, all documented in a satirical manner in the format of a lad's mag.

What’s your earliest beauty related memory?

My earliest beauty memory is me at my grandparent's house in Portugal, taking a pair of shears and hacking off my fringe. I looked like Jim Carrey in Dumb & Dumber.

If you could have a new sense on top of your existing ones, what would it be?

My new sense would be to be able to change my body and physical characteristics on command. I could explore how my physical persona would affect different situations and people’s interactions with me, which I think would be quite enlightening.

What is does your fantasy future look like and why?

My fantasy future is I become a mukbang superstar who then gets her own makeup collection in collaboration with Morphe. After absorbing the knowledge from that collab I start a superbrand with Trisha Paytas and Jeffree Starr and we create the most blinding highlight known to mankind (just like Medusa, if you look directly at it you’ll die). The highlight is a roaring success and I can finally afford to be cryogenically preserved so that I am forever young, beautiful and undead.

Honestly, I just find the obsession with highlighters and the race to create the most potent/blinding one quite intriguing and farcical.

You have to replace your body with that of an animal or a mythological creature. What do you go for and why?

I go for Cerberus because there's no one's company that I love more than my own.

What is the future of beauty?

The future of beauty is just exploring as deeply as possible the idea of identity and expanding on it. With new technologies, identity and beauty will start to gain an even broader meaning, beyond gender race and other human concepts. Maybe beauty and identity soon won’t even have to be attached to a physical individual and might expand into a virtual universe and beyond. Who knows, beauty in 100 years might just be a list of coded numbers forming an algorithmic entity deemed “beautiful”.

It's 30 years from now. You stumble home at 3 am and catch your reflection in the fridge door. What do you look like?

I look like Jocelyn Wildenstein, fresh and plump.

The magazine is available from Friday 2nd of November onwards on the Ditto London website.
