Now, Justin Laboy has provided an update. In a post shared to social media, the internet personality announces that the rapper’s tenth studio album has been pushed back a couple of weeks, and is set to arrive on August 6. “Kanye West will move the release date of Donda to August 6th,” he writes. “Thanks for your patience he wants to give his fans the best possible product without rushing anything. He loves yall with all of his heart. God bless #Donda.” While there’s no official confirmation from Kanye himself (and clearly any date should be taken with a pinch of salt), Laboy does appear to have some amount of insight into the project. Alongside basketball player Kevin Durant, he was treated to a play-through of the album last week, ahead of the public event in Atlanta. Ahead of the listening party, Kanye West teased a new track titled “No Child Left Behind”, as the soundtrack to a Beats ad starring America’s fastest woman, Sha’Carri Richardson. At the listening party itself, he didn’t speak a word, silently roaming the vast stage as the new material played through the stadium’s speakers. Tracks included an exciting list of features, from a reunion with Jay-Z, to collaborations with Pusha-T, Travis Scott, Lil Baby, Baby Keem, Jeremih, Lil Durk, Roddy Riich, and Pop Smoke, as well as spoken word from Kanye’s late mother, Donda.
