Now, Pusha T has announced on Instagram that West will host an official Donda listening event this Thursday (July 22) at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta. On Sunday, internet personality Justin Laboy said that Kanye played the album for him and professional basketball player Kevin Durant over the weekend. “Kanye played his new album for me & @KDTrey5 last night in Vegas,” he wrote. “The production is light years ahead of its time, and the bars sound like he’s broke & hungry trying to get signed again. Any artist who plans on dropping soon should just push it back,” he added. In two further tweets, Laboy said that West’s album will be arriving at some point this week. “Kanye West album is really done,” he wrote, “When it drops this week, we probably not going to listen to anything else for a while.” Last week, images surfaced of West and Tyler, the Creator in the studio with what appears to be a tracklist – including the previously tweeted-then-deleted title track, named after his late mother – scrawled on a whiteboard between the two musicians. When Donda was first announced back in July 2020, Kanye claimed it was set to arrive later that month, on July 24. The album never surfaced, though a tracklist stated that the record would include the Travis Scott-featuring “Wash Us in the Blood”, as well as “New Body”, a track featuring Nicki Minaj.
