As of today (February 6) the Lil Nas X and Nas version (no relation, btw) has a video as well. The new visuals see the “Old Town Road” rapper morphing through several monstrous guises, with nods to a variety of horror and sci-fi classics along the way. As teased yesterday on social media, these references include Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” video, Buffy, and The Matrix. (Think: Lil Nas X becoming a vampire and dodging bullets in tiny sunglasses. Iconic.) RODEO MUSIC VIDEO TOMORROW pic.twitter.com/bpcxyzM2ML— nope (@LilNasX) February 5, 2020 Nas also appears looking like Morpheus from The Matrix, offering a choice between a red pill and a blue pill; Lil Nas takes the red pill, obviously. Cardi B, unfortunately, wasn’t able to make it. The new video isn’t the only good news for Lil Nas X fans. “Now that Rodeo is out,” he writes in another tweet, “new music season is OTW!” Watch “Rodeo” below. Escape the algorithm!
