But Lil Nas X and his special rendition of “Old Town Road” may have stolen the show. The “Panini” singer ran through various remixes of “Old Town Road” as an enormous stage set-piece rotated to gradually reveal a host of collaborators. Lil Nas X sang the first verse solo before joining BTS for the second – taken from the “Seoul Town Road” remix – and then moving through an adapted version of the song to include appearances from the yodelling king Mason Ramsey (who nailed the yodel), producer Diplo, and rapper Nas. Cyrus and Lil Nas X also took home the awards for Best Music Video and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance thanks in part to their hit staying at the top of the Billboard chart for a record-breaking 17 weeks in 2019. Following the win, Cyrus sent a message of support to the Bryant family after the deaths of Kobe and Gianna Bryant earlier on Sunday, tweeting: “I’d like to dedicate both to Kobe and his beautiful daughter. Sending my thoughts and prayers to his family and friends during this difficult time.” Watch the full performance below: Expand your creative community and connect with 15,000 creatives from around the world.READ MOREListen to our shadowy Dazed Winter 2025 playlist7 of Chase Infiniti’s favourite K-pop tracks Jean Paul GaultierJean Paul Gaultier’s iconic Le Male is the gift that keeps on givingMeet The Deep, K-pop’s antihero ‘This is our Nirvana!’: Are Geese Gen Z’s first great rock band?10 of Yung Lean’s best collabs‘We’re like brother and sister’: Yung Lean and Charli xcx in conversationIs art finally getting challenging again? The only tracks you need to hear from November 2025Inside the world of Amore, Spain’s latest rising starLella Fadda is blazing a trail in the Egyptian music sceneThe rise of Sweden’s post-pop underground
