The singer’s latest tease from her upcoming self-titled album Charli dropped this morning, a gloriously subdued, electronica-tinged, reflective collaboration with HAIM titled “Warm”. “You’ve gotta tell me the reason/ Why we can’t fall in love,” Charli sings in autotune, backed up by HAIM’s trademark dreamy harmonies. The electro and underground-traversing pop princess’ latest work reflects on a relationship at its solemn end. “Warm” is the fifth in a series of singles and recent collaborations from the upcoming album for Charli, including “Cross You Out” with Sky Ferreira, the queer fandom-annihilating “Gone” with Christine and the Queens, “1999” with Troye Sivan, and “Blame it on Your Love” with Lizzo. The song is yet another glimpse of what we can expect from Charli’s upcoming album, her third LP and first full-length since 2014’s Sucker. It follows the well-received mixtapes Pop 2 and Number 1 Angel. The Charli album features a talent-dappled roster of guests, including Clairo, Yaeji, Tommy Cash, Brooke Candy, Kim Petras, and more, marked with production by her frequent workmate A.G Cook. Outside of album teasers, Charli has been enlisted by Brazillian drag queen Pabllo Vittar for electro-pop banger “Flash Pose”. Charli arrives September 13, but listen to “Warm” while you wait below – maybe with a cup of tea Charli style.
