Although Vittar may not be a household name this side of the Atlantic, with an impressive 8.9 million Instagram followers, the drag queen is not someone to be overlooked. The 24-year-old first rose to fame in 2015 when she produced a Portuguese version of Major Lazer’s “Lean On”, and debuted her first album, Vai Passar Mal, in 2017. In 2018, the Latin Grammys nominated her song “Sua Cara” for Best Urban Fusion/Performance, making her the first drag queen to be given a nod by the organisation. “Flash Pose” mixes an electro-fuelled chorus with more relaxed percussive interludes. It’s Vittar’s first song in English. This is not their first time collaborating, though – the duo actually first dueted on Charli’s fourth mixtape Pop 2 for a song titled “I Got It”, and is also set to appear on “Shake It” from the pop star’s forthcoming new album Charli, released September 13. Pabllo Vittar’s next album, 111, will drop later this year. Listen to “Flash Pose” below. Escape the algorithm!
