Glass was originally served with court summons from Kath by a person pretending to be a fan, after she wrote a horrifying account of years spent with him, detailing allegations of physical, emotional and sexual abuse starting from when she 15. “Claudio was very manipulative towards me,” she wrote back in October 2017. “Over a period of many months, he gave me drugs and alcohol and had sex with me in an abandoned room at an apartment he managed. It wasn’t always consensual….” In a statement, Kath claimed that Glass was lying about the abuse and “still bitter about breaking up”, as well as alleging that she left Crystal Castles because of substance abuse and mental health issues. WE WILL NOT BE SILENCED— ALICE GLASS (@ALICEGLASS) February 23, 2018 On Friday Glass posted on Twitter and said: “I won in court today!! the defamation lawsuit against me was dismissed ! thank you so much for the love and support throughout this ugly process” “This is a victory for survivors of abuse and sexual misconduct in countries where abusers use the court system to further victimize and keep people silent”. “We are extremely pleased with the Court’s decision to grant our motion to strike, which effectively dismisses Palmieri’s complaint in its entirety,” Vicki Greco, Glass' lawyer, told The Star. Pitchfork reports it confirmed with the Los Angeles Superior Court that her “motion to strike” was granted, which, according to Glass's lawyer, “effectively dismisses the complaint in its entirety”.
