A man who had made “cryptic and threatening” posts on social media about Lana Del Rey has been arrested in Florida. 

Florida police said they were able to find Michael Hunt, 43, after receiving an anonymous tip-off. He was on his way to Del Rey's concert in downtown Orlando and had concert tickets with him, plus a three-inch knife.

Hunt has been charged with charged with attempted kidnapping with a weapon and aggravated stalking with a credible threat.

A police spokesman told the Guardian: “On Friday, Orlando Police Department determined this was a credible threat and worked swiftly to ensure the safety of everyone involved and of everyone who attended the show.

“We rely on the community to call in anything suspicious. If it weren’t for that tip, authorities might have been unaware of the threat posed.”

On Hunt's personal Facebook page, littered with Lana Del Rey references, a post written on February 2 reads: “Well folks I can barely touch the electronics anymore it's probably my last day on Facebook. I hope to see y'all on the walk about in your life be good and I'll see you on the other side everybody take care of yourself may God bless xoxo”.

In 2016, Voice US singer Christina Grimmie was shot to death by a man who turned up to her concert in Florida with two guns and a hunting knife.

Del Rey has also struggled with stalkers in the past. In 2016, 19-year-old Zachary Self was sentenced to three years in prison after breaking into her home.
