Cardi takes the crown at couture week

Paris Couture Week AW25 kicked off on Monday (July 7) with Daniel Roseberry’s latest Schiaparelli show. Featuring a beating, ruby-encrusted heart, the collection paid tribute to Elsa Schiaparelli’s relationship with the surrealist group during Paris’ interwar period – which, coincidentally (or maybe not), will be the subject of a new major exhibition due to open at the V&A next year. 

As ever, the show drew a starry crowd. Dua Lipa, Hunter Schafer, Cooper Koch and Karol G all sat front row, but it was Cardi B who really stole the show, bringing along her own personal crow, which perched on her arm outside the venue. In fact, Cardi has spent the past four days proving her love for fashion. She attended five shows – more than any other celebrity – which was meant to be six, though she missed Rahul Mishra after arriving late. That said, she more than made up for it by spending an hour with the designer and his team that evening. 

Cardi also attended Glenn Martens’ mega Margiela debut and witnessed Demna’s final bow at Balenciaga, which included cameos from Kim Kardashian and Isabelle Huppert. Nicole Kidman, Paloma Elsesser and Mark Eydelshteyn all showed up for Demna’s finale, and Lorde made her couture week debut too.
