Our first big catwalk came courtesy of Saint Laurent, and the luxury house pulled out all the stops for its guest list this year. The front row at Anthony Vaccarello’s SS27 men’s show read like a who’s who of pop culture’s current obsessions: Charli xcx was there, decked out in red leather ahead of the release of her new album Music, Fashion, Film; campaign star Austin Butler arrived too, shirtless under a black, double-breasted smoking jacket; and the queen of pop herself, Madonna, rocked up fashionably late, wearing a waxy lace minidress and hot pink pumps. And while the rest of the frow was occupied by a heady mix of today’s stars – think Chris Briney to Kate Moss, or Rami Malek and Yung Lean – one man in particular stole the show. Since his stratospheric rise to fame, Heated Rivalry star Connor Storrie has proved he knows how to turn a look, and his appearance at today’s show was arguably the boldest yet. Turning up to pose for paps pre-catwalk, Storried defied the sweltering heat in a black, PVC raincoat, before whipping it off to reveal the outfit underneath. While the ribbed vest and tailored shorts were nothing out of the ordinary, the actor sported a tie suggestively knotted around his bare neck, and underneath the shorts wore a pair of black latex stockings inside some laceless patent mules. The fetish-coded accessories were originally debuted at Vaccarello’s AW26 men‘s show in January, and Storrie obviously kept a mental note when he was sitting on the front row. The actor’s whole look today was very ‘summer cocktails at six, darkroom at seven’, and we suspect Paris’ supply of talcum powder may be running low. Storrie’s come in particularly hard for day one of fashion week – here’s hoping he keeps up the heat for the rest of the frows.
