Well, aside from being at the top of their fields, they’ll all be at vibecon in New York from June 17 to 18. vibecon is a place exploring code as the new creative, curated by Replit, an AI software creation platform in the vibecoding space that started out with the mission to empower anyone to bring their digital ideas to life. As a first-of-its-kind creative conference connecting code to culture, vibecon will bring together artists, filmmakers, designers, founders, technologists and other creatives to showcase their coded craft. With Replit, you are only limited by your imagination; similarly, you don’t have to be a technological expert to attend vibecon, you can be code-curious. Taking place at Canyon in the Lower East Side, the inaugural vibecon will include two days of engaging live talks and demos, installations, art exhibits, deep-dive discussions, performances and hands-on workshops – inviting you to get weird with code. Filled with people who no longer draw a line between code and craft, there, you can explore the apps, films, tools, visual systems and interactive experiences that would have been out of reach for most even just a year ago. Featured speakers at vibecon include Spike Jonze, who has spent decades making machines feel human and humans feel surreal through films like Her; Refik Anadol, a pioneer at the intersection of AI, data and architecture; and Reshma Saujani, the founder of Girls Who Code and Moms First, in conversation with Amjad Masad, Haya Odeh and Michele Catasta from Replit. Also, a talk from Paige Piskin on how to build your own personalised tools that amplify and systemise your production pipeline without taking away from the creative, and GMUNK on art at the edge of technology and mind. You’ll also get the chance to channel your memories and AI conversations into a bespoke fragrance to take home from LYCHEE’s founder, Tigris Li. vibecon will explore new digital worlds, both on and off the stage, bringing together Seven on Seven (7x7), the flagship art & tech program organised by Rhizome; Lucas Gelfond, the software engineer and writer reimagining the full stack of storytelling at A24 Labs; Karyn Nakamura, the Tokyo-born, MIT-trained artist and engineer probing the hidden infrastructures of perception; Debit, the composer, producer and DJ whose research-driven records and site-specific works have reached the Whitney and the Venice Biennale; and Saarim Zaman, the Dhaka-raised creative technologist and co-founder of ITM. With vibecon, Replit continues its mission of being the go-to platform where creatives can build anything they imagine, without having to learn to code – and the timing couldn’t be better. “Coding has never been more relevant, and interlinked, to culture than right now, proving coding really is the next creative frontier,” says Haya Odeh. “The future of coding is bright, and vibecon will open the door to endless possibilities of a more creative, vibecoded future for every artist to shine.” Tickets for vibecon are available now.
