Back in January, the fashion world went into mourning when it was announced that avant-garde Paris brand Y/Project would be closing after 14 years. Following the departure of creative director Glenn Martens – who we now know is headed to Margiela – the label came to the “challenging decision to stop operations,” as explained in a statement.

Then, just when we thought we’d heard the last of Y/Project, it was announced earlier this week that the brand would be leaving us with a parting gift – a collaboration with Marc Jacobs’ Heaven. The swan song collection will feature a range of pieces stamped with both brands’ logos, hoodies, jeans, unique accessories, plus a new iteration of Y/Project's ‘I Love You’ belt. The collection, which is out now and has been two years in the making, will undoubtedly be popular – not only for the significance of the collab, but because it marks Y/Project’s final bow.

Elsewhere in fashion this week, Monday kicked off to a dramatic start when Proenza Schouler founders Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez were named creative directors of Loewe. Then, 24 hours later, Casey Cadwallader stepped down from Mugler and Portuguese designer Miguel Castro Freitas was announced as his replacement. Legendary trip-hop artist Tricky was revealed as the face of Acne’s new Kappa collab, and we caught up with The White Lotus costume designer Alex Bovaird, who wants the next season to be hosted in a UK castle. Here’s everything you missed in fashion this week.
