Fresh in the wake of news that A$AP Rocky has been found not guilty of assault charges, Ray-Ban has announced that the rapper is its new creative director.

What’s more is that the position seems to have been created specifically for Rocky – not only has Ray-Ban never had a creative director, but it’s the first time a major eyewear company has appointed the role.

Speaking in a statement released alongside the announcement, the musician said that he’s “always admired Ray-Ban for how they stay true to their roots while continuing to innovate” and added that he was “honoured to contribute to the legacy of such an iconic brand and help write a new chapter.” His first collection will debut in April this year.
