(Instagram)FashionRound-up Another one bites the dust: Nigel Farage just killed adidas GazellesThe right-wing demagogue is flexing his favourite trainers online… plus more fashion news you missedShareLink copied ✔️April 29, 2024FashionRound-up TextElliot Hoste Just when you thought Rishi Sunak was the last person you wanted wearing a pair of your favourite trainers, another right-wing demagogue appears to blow him out of the water. A couple of weeks ago, the vertically challenged prime minister slipped into a pair of adidas Sambas, and everyone – including Dazed Fashion – promptly claimed that the shoes were over. But, never one to be out-embarrassed by the Tories, Reform UK “honourary president” Nigel Farage has entered the chat, showing off his adidas Gazelles in a video on Instagram. “So Rishi Sunak thought he would get down with the kids and wear a pair of Sambas and it bombed,” said the politician(?) on his IG page. “I’m not a Samba man, I’m more of a Gazelle man myself,” he continued, before flicking his foot up for the trainer reveal. While Farage must wear something on his feet at all times to cover his cloven hooves, I’m sure adidas is wishing that it wasn’t one of its own styles. They’ve had enough bad press thanks to Sunak’s little stunt, and now this one is only adding insult to injury. But if you yourself own a pair of Gazelles that you’re now hankering to throw out, all is not lost – pick out a brand new pair from this list of replacements we compiled after Sunak’s OG faux pas.
