Cast your mind back to November 2023 and you might recall the moment Pharrell Williams transported the fashion crowd to Hong Kong to debut his first ever Pre-Fall collection for Louis Vuitton

Taking over ‘The Hollywood of the East’ – AKA HK’s Avenue of the Stars, which pays tribute to talents like Michelle Yeoh and Bruce Lee – the designer dropped a collection that spanned slick tailored suits right the way through to easy sailor-inspired separates, with looks punctuated with Mother of Pearl accents and nautical collars.

As ever, the designer looked to his community when it came to the casting, with friends and family of the house treading the catwalk alongside members of the Hawaiian surf community and models from the local scene – a theme which continues as Williams presents his 2024 Pre-Fall campaign this week.

Stepping out in a series shot by Leslie Zhang are a mix of models including skater Carlisle Aikens,  musician Joey Lanham, and surfer Martial Crum. In pieces from the collection including preppy Varsity jackets, silky printed souvenir shirts, and clean white and navy tailored suits with nipped waists and flared trousers, the group is captured lounging aboard a boat at sunset and looking pensively out to sea, all soundtracked by “Airplane Tickets” – the Pharrell, Swae Lee, and Raw Alejandro track that got its surprise debut at the Hong Kong show.
