Palace’s pizza boyPalace and Calvin Klein link up on a new collection, with a campaign also starring Neil Tennant from the Pet Shop Boys and Joan Collins(!)ShareLink copied ✔️April 5, 2022April 5, 2022TextDazed Digital From London’s bolshiest skate crew to global megabrand, Palace last night announced a brand new link-up with what’s arguably one of the world’s most recognisable labels. Step forward Calvin Klein, the latest fashion behemoth to join forces with Lev and co. on what’s sure to be a sellout collab. As teased in a short film on Palace’s Instagram, right now, the collection is looking to be filled with a whole bunch of dual-branded undies, with CK’s classic tighty-whities, sweatshirts, and bras brandished with both labels’ logos, but beyond that, details are sparse. Honestly, though: clothes shmothes (at least until we get a proper look). After strong-arming Jonah Hill into starring in an ad campaign back in 2016, and somehow wangling Elton John for a collab just last month, Palace have signed up a bunch of unexpected megastars to feature in its new CK film. Opening with bonafide British legend, Pet Shop Boys’ Neil Tennant, the clip cuts to rising supermodel Precious Lee, Lourdes Leon, Adwoa Aboah, and a bunch of the core Palace crew. So far so good. The pièce de résistance, however, is an appearance by Willem Dafoe, who’s first seen as a New York cabbie, and later as a pizza chef Leon mistakes for a pet store proprietor, as well as a clip of the one and only Joan Collins. “Calvin Klein and Palace,” she purrs into the camera. “Who saw that coming?” There’s absolutely no explanation for what’s going on throughout the surreal clip, but tbh, do we even need one? Of course, it’s not the first time Dafoe’s found himself embroiled in the fashion world. The legendary actor – and everyone’s fave villain – also walked the runway for Mrs. Prada circa her fabled AW12 show alongside Tim Roth and Gary Oldman, and this season landed a spot on the cover of the latest issue of AnOther.
