Including the launch of a new Savage x Fenty menswear line, Converse’s new mentorship scheme, and the moment Dua Lipa’s avatar sat front row at GCDS’ otherworldly MFW show
We’re midway through the SS21 fashion season and, unsurprisingly, there’s been plenty of big news moments this week.
With LFW drawing to a close (more on that here) and Milan set to continue until Monday, we’ve seen Maximilian Davis make his Fashion East debut, Fendi drop a cosy, quarantine-ready collection of eiderdown-inspired fashions, and a little designer by the name of Raf Simons present his first ever collection as part of the Prada fold (revealing his coffee and Coke Zero habit in the process).
Away from the fashion week schedule, there was also news from Rihanna (no, still no album), as she gets set to drop her new Savage x Fenty menswear line, Gucci revealed it was collaborating with The North Face, and OG 00s icon Groovy Chick made her wholly unexpected return (honestly wtf is 2020?)
Aside from all that, we’ve rounded up the best of the rest in the gallery below. Follow @dazedfashion for more.

Fenty x Savage announced a menswear line
RiRi’s cult lingerie label is expanding, with the label dropping the first campaign for its new men’s line. Fronted by Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ son Christian, Savage-branded boxers, pyjama pants, and silk logo-embossed robes feature heavily.

Dior is taking TikTok
With a v different Milan Fashion Week almost over, attention is turning to Paris which kicks off next week. With Louis Vuitton and Chanel among the few shows going ahead IRL, Dior has just announced its SS21 presentation will be live-streamed via TikTok. Watch it live on September 29.

Stella McCartney launched a podcast
Created in partnership with feminist climate justice podcast Mothers of Invention, the British designer announced the launch of new podcast Climate/Change this week. Centring and amplifying BIPOC voices fighting for the future of our planet, the first three episodes see McCartney in conversation with indiginous rights activist Tara Houska, marine conservationist Dr. Ayana Johnson, and climate activist Mary Annaïse Heglar. Head here for more.
Raf Simons made his big Prada debut
...which you can read more about here. Post-show, in the absence of journalists, who all took in the show from the comfort of their sofa (hi!), he and Miuccia sat down to answer questions submitted by people around the world. The two discussed their design processes, the first collection, and their mutual appreciation, before Raf confessed his Coke Zero habit and Miuccia doled out advice to a ten-year-old wannabe fashion designer. Extremely wholesome stuff.

Dua Lipa, Raisa Flowers, and Aweng sat frow at GCDS
...well, kinda. In light of not being able to throw a regular runway show, the Italian label took things to another dimension, with digitally rendered models walking and celebrity avatars sitting frow. No triple-breasted models this time, but there was a collab with Rick and Morty. Check the whole thing out here.

Palace dropped new charity t-shirts
Featuring colourful takes on the classic Tri-Ferg logo. All profits from the sales go to the Stephen Lawrence Charitable Trust, which “works to create a fairer and more inclusive society in which everyone can succeed regardless of race, ethnicity or background.” Head here to shop.

London has a new menswear destination
Called htown, and based in Hoxton, it’s the new go-to for when you’re looking to buy London’s emerging talent, like Mowalola, Saul Nash, and Eastwood Danso – as well as more established names like Martine Rose. You can follow it here.

No Vacancy Inn and Stüssy are collaborating
Former Dazed 100 collective No Vacancy Inn is joining forces with Stüssy on a new capsule collection. Tapping into cult 80s movie Weekend at Bernie’s, Hunter S. Thompson’s The Fight, and John Lennon’s ‘lost weekend’ period, the line features a boxy, double-breasted cord suit, dual-logo sweatpants and hoodies, and branded tote bags – as modelled by A$AP Nast.

DSM wants you to vote
The cult store has partnered with fashionable friends across the US, including Marc Jacobs, Off White, and Vaquera to make limited edition charity voting tees, encouraging shoppers to get to the polls. 100 per cent of profits will be donated to When We All Vote – a non-profit, nonpartisan organization on a mission to increase participation in every election.

Burberry debuted a new campaign
Right after the brand’s stunning SS21 show in a forest on the outskirts of London, designer Riccardo Tisci has unveiled a series of new images for the house – with models including Mona Tougaard, Maty Diba, and Izaak Theo, the handsome son of the legendary Sade, all on the line up.

Priya Ahluwalia dropped her new lookbook
For SS21, Priya Ahluwalia partnered with Dennis McInnes, a Lagos-born British graphic designer. Together, they researched archival posters, newspaper clippings and photographs from protests in 1960s Nigeria that went on to form a visual foundation for the collection – styled by Nell Kalonji and lensed by Joyce NG.

Fendi made some FF-branded pasta
Sending bags of it to guests as an invite for the SS21 show, which took place this week (albeit socially distanced) in Milan. As posted by new womenswear artistic director Kim Jones, the pasta was unsurprisingly popular on Instagram. As for whether Fendi will sell it, we’ll have to wait and see – would buy though tbh. As for the show, it was attended by none other than Normal People’s Paul Mescal.

Converse unveiled a new mentorship scheme
...designed to help get young creatives professional experience. Comprised of “a robust community-focused ecosystem of mentorship, commission and funding” the scheme – called All Stars – is all about nurturing the next generation of talent. So far, a series of workshops and talks have included the likes of Dazed founder Jefferson Hack, Virgil Abloh, and Samuel Ross.
BAO BAO ISSEY MIYAKE dropped a tiny bag
