The paperwork for the trademark was filed on the same day that Kanye first used the phrase, when he announced his 10-year Gap/Yeezy partnership with the hashtag #WESTDAYEVER. He’s since used the hashtag to promote the release of new shoes and new music. The trademark does not make clear what, specifically, this goofy phrase will be used for, but it does state that it will be regulated to clothing and shoes. If approved, the phrase can be used to produce more than 100 different styles of apparel bearing the words. Either way, Kanye has filed more paperwork regarding this phrase than he has for his presidential bid. Despite having publicly announced his bid to run in the 2020 election, he’s not filed any of the relevant paperwork with the Federal Election Commission that will allow him to actually be on the ballot. Kanye West recently released a new track, “Wash Us in the Blood”, reportedly the lead single from his next album. Listen to that below.
