Following on from her SS19 homecoming – when she showed for the first time in London to celebrate the tenth anniversary of her label – that Vogue video, and, of course, the time she moonlighted as a bouncer at Dalston’s Visions club as part of a short film shot by Eloise Parry for Dazed, today she launches her first ever collaborative collection with Reebok. While the designer might have previously left most sporty pursuits to fellow Spice Girl Mel C, this time around, VB has joined forces with the British sportswear behemoth to present a line of fashion-focused streetwear-inspired activewear. On the line-up? Functional unisex sweatpants, oversized hoodies, and nylon bombers, as well as backpacks, caps, and sneakers, in a palette of neutrals with the odd flash of neon. Inspired by Beckham’s experiences of living in both London and LA, think laid back Californian styles, with a hint of British heritage. While Beckham’s eponymous line is pretty refined in contrast, moving into activewear made perfect sense for the designer. “Keeping fit is a huge part of my life, and I’ve grown up with Reebok, so when they opportunity to collaborate came up I jumped at the chance. I’m all for experimenting and adding another string to my bow,” she explains. “Not only does Reebok have an important British heritage that I love, they were also pioneers in the development of women’s sportswear.” Along with the newly released campaign, which was shot by iconic photographer Mario Sorrenti, we also present an exclusive film which features a diverse cast showing off the collection’s functionality.
