Fashion / NewsFashion / NewsDiesel’s latest collab is with... a kebab shopMustafa – of Berlin’s Mustafa Gemuse Kebap – has created a ‘cookbook’ especially for the partnershipShareLink copied ✔️August 31, 2018August 31, 2018TextEmma Pradella Diesel has always been known for doing things its own way. Its last campaign wanted you to celebrate your flaws, and more recently, it sold bootleg merch in a fake store on New York’s Canal Street. Now, it has announced its new capsule collection, created in partnership with cult Berlin kebab kiosk Mustafa Gemüse Kebap. The joint line of sweatshirts, tees, and caps – that even has a cookbook, instead of a lookbook – features both Diesel and Mustafa Gemüse’s logos reimagined for the occasion, alongside colourful patches all across the sleeves and front. “We were all treated as a family,” Mustafa tells us. “It didn’t feel like working with a brand, more like a friend. And they sure did like the kebabs!” “I tried to add some special ingredients,” says the owner about his input to the collection “and to make sure everybody involved is happy and not hungry, holding a fresh kebab in their hand.” In the teaser video, you can see exactly how popular the store is, often drawing lines 30 minutes long. Now that Diesel has tapped the kebab community, where to for the next unexpected collab? The collection drops today at Berlin’s Bread&Butter Festival, and will also available to purchase on Diesel website and from selected stores from September 3. Escape the algorithm!
